In a Nutshell, what is the Diablosport Predator?
The Predator is a state-of-the art, high performance tuning flash programmer in a sleek handheld design. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predators internal
computer recognizes the vehicles PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator's memory are the actual
tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves. The transmission parameters are remapped to improve the shift characteristics such as shift firmness
and shift points. Unlike other 'tuners', DiabloSport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a
more predictable power delivery. DiabloSport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best
they can be.

Dyno Tested Performance Tunes
The Predator was created with one thing in mind, POWER!

Average power gains are per tune. The Predators additional power makes itself noticeable immediately with an increase in power that starts in the low RPMs and builds
into a frenzy at the high RPMs.

A Predator equipped vehicle will notice significant improvements in drivability. The additional power and improved shift patterns created by the Predator tune will yield
quicker acceleration and better mileage, whether it is in town or out on the highway.

The power increase in the lower RPMs will yield a better throttle response. The increase in MPG is a byproduct of maximized engine efficiency, the improved timing
curve and air/fuel ratio creates a more complete combustion, i.e. The engine extracts more power from each molecule of gasoline.

The Fine Details

The Predator (part no. U7194) is a state-of-the art high performance tuning flash programmer, which advances the timing, optimizes the air/fuel ratio and remaps the
transmission shift points (in automatic transmissions). Unlike other 'tuners', DiabloSport’s programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire
RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery.

a. Richen or lean fuel mixture
b. Advance or retard ignition timing
c. Raise and lower shift points in 10 RPM increments
d. Raise and lower rev limiter in 10 RPM increments
e. Reduce shift duration (time delay during gear change)  (+/- 25% and anywhere in between)
f.  Increase or decrease shift firmness (+/- 25% and anywhere in between)
g. Correct speedometer for gear changes and/or tire sizes
h. Turn on cooling fans at lower temps in incremental steps of 1 degrees (for vehicles w/ factory equipped electric fans)
i. Adjust top-speed limiters.



The Predator allows the end user to adjust the following parameters:

The Predator is the most advanced tuning programmer available today.  It has taken the hand-held programmer to a new level. You will notice quicker acceleration and
better throttle response. If you have an automatic transmission, the Predator will also give you a firmer, more responsive shift pattern (gas vehicles only at this time).
The Predator will raise your rev limiter as well as it allows you to raise your top end speed limiter if you have installed high speed rated tires.   



A unique feature of the Predator is that is allows you, the user, to “fine tune” DiabloSport's program. Since vehicles are located at different elevations or different
weather climates, the way the vehicle responds to the DiabloSport program may vary (not all vehicles are exactly alike). Some vehicles will see better gains than
others and some may see better (or worse) gains than advertised. This is due to the fact that not all vehicles respond exactly the same. Now, here’s the good news…If
you're not totally satisfied with the way DiabloSport program performs, the Predator allows you to make your own adjustments to the program. For example: If you feel
that the shift points are too firm, you can go into the program and lower the transmission line pressure (gas vehicles). If you feel that you can benefit from a higher shift
point rpm, you can go into the program and raise shift points. If you feel that you will benefit from a few more degrees of ignition timing, you can go into the program
and add some timing (gas vehicles). The Predator allows you to "fine tune" the DiabloSport program to meet your specific requirements.



The Predator has diagnostic abilities near identical to GM’s Tech2 software. The predator will allow you to read diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), erase DTC’s and
perform live data monitoring. You can monitor your engine sensors while driving your vehicle and much more.  The Predator will save the original GM program so if at
any time you want to go back to the original factory specifications, it will allow you to do so.

Gas Vehicles

Higher compression ratio engines and engines with superchargers or turbo chargers were designed to use only premium octane, so only
one (1) Power Tuning program for premium octane is provided. But, if your car or truck came from the factory capable of using more
economical regular octane, then two (2) optimized tuning programs are provided: one for premium, and the other for regular. In most
cases, Hypertech’s exclusive Power Tuning for regular octane provides excellent power gains, almost as much power as premium octane. If
you are using premium octane, and you want all out, maximum power, then select premium octane Power Tuning.

E-85/Flex Fuel Vehicles

We recommend premium octane tuning for vehicles using E-85 fuel. The improved engine tuning will increase the part-throttle efficiency
and wide-open throttle performance compared to the factory tuning.

Diesel Vehicles

Three (3) stages of Power Tuning are available. Even the highest power level Stage 3, maintains safe EGTs while towing the maximum
weight specified by the vehicle manufacturer. No other tuner offers this level of power for towing. Hypertech’s low EGTs, proper
transmission shifting and superior tuning that doesn’t require de-fueling, giving the Max Energy Power Programmer the performance
